This week we are focusing on regional food and crops.
A part of lesson focused on crops grown in various state of India.
While we did study the theory part from her school book. I wanted to follow it with an activity.
So decided to do this simple activity with map of India.
First we used the stencil to draw the map on a mount-board
Afterwards I gave her some grains and pulses and asked her to paste this in areas where these are grown.
For example coastal region have rice as main crop. Central region will have wheat as main crop.
Punjab and UP has pulses as main crops.
This is how our final map looked like. Its a great way to understand and memorize crop distribution based on geographical region.
